Please follow the guide below to select the appropriate class for your child. Note: students must be the required age of the class level by the start of class with no exceptions.
PLAYER I CLASS (MINIMUM AGE 7)
The Player I Class is for children ages 7 & 8 years old and anyone new to The First Tee program from ages 7 – 10. Every participant starts here and introduces playing the game of golf with special emphasis on learning golf skills and The First Tee’s Nine Core Values.
PLAYER II CLASS
The Player II class is for anyone new to The First Tee program from ages 11 – 17 regardless of golf skills. The class introduces playing the game of golf with special emphasis on learning golf skills and The First Tee’s Nine Core Values.
The Par class is for any student who is Player Certified** and a minimum of 9 years old. They have now learned the basic golf and life skills of The First Tee and will focus on interpersonal skills.
The Birdie class is for any student who is Par Certified** and a minimum of 11 years old. The class will emphasize goal-setting both on and off the golf course.
The Eagle class is for any student who is Birdie Certified** and a minimum of 13 years old. The class will emphasize resilience skills, conflict resolution, and planning for the future.
The Ace class is for any student who is Eagle Certified**, a minimum of 14 years old, and has attended our most recent Advanced Life Skills Class.
**Certification is made up of two parts: (1) life skills and golf knowledge paper test & (2) golf skills test.
***Students must attend a minimum of 75% of the classes to be eligible for certification.
***Students must obtain at least an 80% on the life skills and golf knowledge paper test to pass.
